Lemhi County is also famous
as the birthplace of Sacajawea and apart of the Lewis and
Clark back-country byway. Salmon's newly built Sacajawea
Center is a fun, historical attraction. Along

Museum.
For winter fun there is a lighted
ice rink, a nearby ski area, as well as cross-country skiing
and snowmobile trails. The Salmon Idaho area has some of the
most beautiful winter country in the world! And yet we are
also sheltered from much of the hard winter weather which
hits our neighbors.

white water rafting, trail riding, hiking, backpacking, kayaking,
abundant hot-springs, 4-H and rodeo events.

Local
Facilities
The local medical facility
has recently been rebuilt. Steel Memorial Hospital is a state-of-the
art medical center, with 26 bed critical access and 2 operating
rooms. The high quality of life in the Salmon valley has attracted
some of the nation's top surgeons and health care providers
to the hospital.
The Lemhi county airport, located
4 miles south of town on Highway 93, has a 5,130 airstrip
capable of handling jets, night lighting, a full service year-round
FBO and our locally based Air Service, "Salmon
Air".

Wildlife
Moose,
whitetail and mule deer are frequently found on the
estate. Elk visit the estate at times, as well as antelope,
wild turkeys and pheasant.
